Week 2: How did it go?

Well today is the last day of week two! If I told you week two went perfect I would be fibbing. My goals for week two was to continue to keep track of my food intake and working out AND to only drink water or tea. I slipped up a couple times this week just out of habit. We had a baby shower this weekend and out of habit I went for the punch instead of the water. In the middle of my first sip I realized what I was doing. So I stopped right away and gave the rest to my dad. I had already went a couple days without sugary drinks so that one sip of punch kinda upset my stomach.

I have been keeping track of my food however I am not limiting what I eat yet. Those goals will come. I do try to stay within my calorie intake. I was over my intake three days this week. I also haven't been working out much this week due to sleeping in and just not feeling it. I hope to be out of that slump now.

So whats up for Week 3?

We all know I didn't master week 2 with only drinking tea and water so Week 3 we are adding drink 8 to 10 cups of water per day. I have a water bottle I carry with me everywhere! That water bottle holds 3 cups so I will need to drink at lease 2 1/2 water bottles. Drinking water has a huge number of important benefits – which is why drinking the recommended 8 glasses each day is vital. Some of these benefits include:
  1.  Weight Loss
  2.  Healthier & Younger Looking Skin
  3. Increased Concentration
  4. Assists the Body in Absorbing Vitamins & Minerals
  5. Increases your Energy
  6. Increases your Mental & Physical Ability
  7. Removes Toxins from the Body
  8. Reduce Headaches & Dizziness
  9. Helps to Regular your Appetite
  10. Reduces the Risk of Infections
  11. Reduces ‘Sunken Eyes’ and Bags Under the Eyes
SO We now have 3 goal we are working on each week! They include:
  • Keeping track of what you eat and exercise
  • Only drink water and tea
  • Drink 8 to 10 cups of water per day

We got this!

Week 1: Days 3-7

I am back from California and trying to get back in the swing of things! I did accomplished my first goal which was to keep track of what I ate and exercise everyday! So that is something to be proud of. You would think it wouldn't be difficult thing to do but at times it was. It was especially hard to do when I knew I was eating bad. Being in California and having to eat out everyday was hard and got old fast. I did go over my calorie intake on Friday and Saturday but that was expected. All I had to do was keep track. I didn't have to eat certain things or stay under a certain number of calories. The Purpose of keeping track of my calories was to make myself aware of what I was eating and how much. And I was defiantly aware of what I ate.

Tomorrow is a new week so that means a new goal since I accomplished the first goal. So not only will I continue to keep track of what I eat on My Fitness App but I will add something new. I feel like I need to pick something that will challenge me since this last week wasn't too hard. Week 2: I will have No sodas or sugary drinks - water or tea only. This may not seem like a change but I know I struggle with this. I never order pop or grab a pop out of the fridge BUT I drink my husband, Dex, pop all the time. I think I like to trick myself into thinking Im not drinking a pop if I drink his. But the think is I don't just drink a sip or two I usually drink the majority of it. So I will not be drinking from Dex's cup from now on. This is going to be hard but I know I can do all things through Christ who give me strength. The think about our bodies is they keep a good track of what we consume even though we don't. :) Happy week 2!!

Week 1 Day 2: Going to Cali

Today was a crazy day. Due to flying to Las Vegas and then driving to Cali we had to eat out twice and both were fast food. Before we left I had pancakes which were 110 calories. Lunch we ate in Las Vegas at Jack N the Box and I had a bacon cheese burger and curly fries 1,150 calories. Supper we ate at In N out Burger after the wedding rehearsal. I had a cheese burger some fries and a coke. Let me tell you what I felt sick! My body defiantly feels better with eating clean. Good thing I worked out this morning at 630am. I did Insanity at the gym. I burned 586 calories. My average heart beat was 157 and Max was 190. I give today a rating of 3 due to not helping I had to eat out. So the plan I guess to to find healthier options to eating out. Make better choices.

Supper: 285 calories

  •   Pork chops
  •   Cheesy veggies
  •   Fresh Mixed Fruit

  Total Calories consumed: 1,322
Workout

  •   TurnboKick
  •   BodyPump

  Burned Total of 1,202 Calories

I worked out for 2 hours today however this is not normal for me. I usually only have time for an hour. But if I don't work or don't have any clients in the morning then I try to workout long just because its FUN!! As you can tell I over did it on my snacks. I don't know what it was but I felt really hungary after supper. AND I over did it. But it happens it's just a learning experience.

I took my week 1 photo but wont reveal that for a couple of weeks. I weighed in today at 190.2.  Lets pray that goes down fast!! I am heading to Cali for a couple of days so we will see how healthy I can eat with having to eat out every meal..... But my goal this week is just to keep track of all my exercise and what I eat. Thats a pretty manageable goal.

The Beginning

Tippin the scale blog is all about losing weight and keeping it off. It is so important to get healthy and stay that way to prevent a lot of health problems. There are many ways to lose weight. You can go for the quick fix and lose a lot of weight from a dramatic change then gain it back once you go back to old habits or you can take one day at a time and lose it for good by making a lifestyle change. I know I can't do this on my own because I've tried but I know that God can and will give me the strength to do this. I love working out so that is not what I struggle with. My struggle is what I put into my body which is kinda funny since I got a BA degree in Nutrition. I know what to eat and what not to but I still fail everyday. And that is why it is so important to start this journey off the right way which is with God.
My purpose for this blog is to keep me motivated. By putting what I eat and my workouts out for people to see I hope it encourages me to choose better. I also hope this encourages my friends and family to jump in the boat with me and live healthier lifestyles. This is going to be fun and amazing. I know God is going to bless our efforts. I just pray for favor for everyone taking a part is their lifestyle change. I have just started this blog and I hope this turns into something amazing. I hope to include my weight loss plan, progress photos, workout plans, meal menus/ meal prep, motivation, ect. Not only do I want to inspire others but I love to hear what others are doing and whats working for them. I know I don't have all the answers so I would love to create an atmosphere where we can come together and fight this  weight loss battle together. Please only post encouraging and uplifting things. :)
